1978-88 Econo Drag race kit for 78-88 Chevelle, Regal, Grand National, G-body Part # ETPK-7888
Front Control Arms, Bushings and Shafts
1978-88 Econo Drag race kit for 78-88 Chevelle, Regal, Grand National, G-body Part # ETPK-7888
Specifically designed for drag racing Global West offers tubular upper control arms with low friction bushings that allow the front end to respond quickly. The upper control arms have built in positive caster. These particular units have 6 degrees built in. Caster as you probable already know provides straight-line stability.
The control arms are lighter then stock and are setup so that an adjustable limiter can be installed Part # TLC-1100 for tying down the front end. The cross shafts are made out of 7075 aluminum for strength and are hard anodized in order to resist corrosion. Steel sleeves are also installed in the control arm shaft so the alignment shims rest on steel rather than aluminum.
The kit also includes lower ball joints and low friction Del-a-lum bushings. Del-a-lum bushings only allow straight up and down movement eliminating fore and aft deflection. They are superior over stock and polyurethane bushings. Del-a-lum bushings also will not distort / cold flow over time which will maintain your alignment. This combination is equal to that of using the tubular lower arm but without the strength of the tubes.
Note: If you are using this kit on a Grand National, you must rap the turbo down tube and place a small heat shield over the rear bushing.
