Wander Bar Part #TS-14

Front and Rear Suspension
Wander Bar Part #TS-14
Global West Suspension makes front frame braces for GM applications; however some know them as wander bars, which GM called the braces in the early 1980s. This is a name GM put on the lower steering brace that ties the front frame horns together on the 1985, 1986 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, and 1992 Camaros and Firebirds. This brace was not standard on all models. The bar reduces flex and the twisting action generated from the steering box. It is more noticeable when large front tires are used. The wander bar is sandwiched between the frame and the sway bar. Global West Suspension built a heavy duty brace for this application. The main difference between our bar and GM is the thickness of the tubing (we use thicker wall tubing) and the bolt hole openings. GM uses much larger holes which tend to allow for more forgiveness when mounting the bar (production tolerances). Global West closed up the tolerances and offers two bars, TS-13 for 1982, 1983 and 1984 and TS-14 for 1985, 1968, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, and 1992 models. Interesting enough, they are supposed to be the same car!
