What is a Del-A-Lum bushing:
Del-A-Lum bushings are a direct replacement for rubber or polyurethane control arm bushings. They are perfect for street or race applications. Del-A-Lum bushings feature inner and outer thrust washers, inner rotating sleeve and lube fittings.
This unique design provides smooth performance without squeaks or bind. Designed to last over 100,000 miles. Del-A-Lum bushings on the street or the track will give you optimum performance and control.
Installation Tips:
The Del-a-lum bushing kit part # 1012 requires a cross shaft with a 5/8 nut holding the bushing in place.
If you have the stock cross shaft with a 3/8 bolt and washer holding the bushing in place, you will need a part #1030 kit instead. The #1030 kit has studs that go into the ends of the cross shaft and converts the shaft over to a 5/8 stud.
You will have to weld the studs in place before installation. A better way would be to replace the cross shafts with part #702. A pair of #702 offset shafts will install with no welding, provide more alignment capability, and have the proper dimensions for the bushings.
Note: If using OE shafts with attaching bolt use part #1030 (includes shaft extensions)
