Description
Global West Suspension tubular lower control arms for 1979-1993 Mustang Capri are perfect for stock or performance suspension upgrades. These control arms from Global West also provide an extra 2 degrees of caster built in and additional header tube clearance, which requires no frame modifications and are assembled for your convenience. Both arms are supplied with ball joints, control arm bushings, sway bar end link bushings and an innovative rotating spring cushion.
The built in two degrees of caster will provide better overall handling and will also increase straight line stability.
Three advantages when choosing a rotating spring pocket:
1. Many people cut the coil spring to obtain a desired ride height. When you cut the spring, the spring will no longer line up in the lower arm or upper frame mount. In some cases, this can cause the spring to make noise rubbing on the edge of the pocket. Global West designed spring cushions to solve the rubbing issue. Rotating the cushion provides a way to re-index the spring.
2. The spring will be indexed properly around the coil. You will notice that most tubular lower control arms have a flat plate that the spring sits on. There really is no index. This places a lot of load at the very end of the coil spring rather than on the full coil. Over time this will fatigue the coil spring and sagging may occur.
3. Ride height adjustments can be made by shimming under the spring pocket.
FTA-93L – These are a fully assembled lower control arms with top of the line Del-a-lum bushings from Global West. In this set, you will receive tubular lower arms, Del-a-lum bushings, rotating spring cushions, ball joints, sway bar end link bushings and related hardware for ball joints.
