Description
The purpose for a 707 kit is for those car owners using stock upper control arm shafts on 1967-69 Camaro/Firebird, 68-74 Nova/Ventura 64-72 Chevelle/El Camino/Buick GS/Skylark/Lemans/GTO/Olds Cutlass/442/1963-81 Corvette and converting over to Del-a-lum bushings. Normally you would order kit 1030 for this application but if you didn’t and ordered a 1012 kit, you will need the 707 kit. The 707 converts GM upper control arm shafts using a 3/8 bolt that holds the bushing in the control arm over to a 5/8 slotted hex nut. The 5/8 hex nut is used to adjust the proper preload on the Del-a-lum upper bushings. The bolt from the factory will not hold the torque and will back out.
Note: There are 4 types of upper control arm shafts used for the above years. They are the following:
- Stock GM small boss cross shafts with 3/8 bolts at the ends of the shaft.
- Stock GM large boss cross shafts with 3/8 bolts holding the bushings in place.
- The following two do not need a 707 stud kit.
- Stock GM small boss cross shafts with 5/8 diameter nuts holding the bushings in place.
- Offset aftermarket shafts with 5/8 diameter nuts holding the bushings in place.
