Global West Suspension sells Wilwood 12 inch brake kits for the Chevelle, El Camino, Malibu, Monte Carlo–model years 1964,1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, and 1972.
The 12 inch kit includes aluminum hubs, bearings, seals, non-cross drilled rotors, caliper brakes, calipers, brake pads, aluminum hats, and hardware. Installation will require a disc brake master cylinder if you are converting over from drum. You will also need a proportioning valve.
Brake upgrades are simple with Wilwood disc brakes. Brake kits are available with 11 inch rotors, 12 inch rotors, 13 inch rotors and now 14 inch rotors. The 13 and 14 inch kits come with 6 piston calipers.
This particular kit is a 12 inch disc conversion. The kit will bolt on to stock drum or disc brake factory spindles. It will also bolt on to our replacement stock and two inch drop spindles. The 12 inch is best suited for 16 inch wheels and bigger. We have used 15 inch wheels, however the fit is based on back space of the rim and the inside lip of the rim.
The hard line from the master to the proportioning valve is generally custom built by the installer. Braided steel lines from the hard line to the caliper are extra. We offer kits for easy installation (DB-50).
All this is offered in a package that includes the 12 inch disc, master, proportioning valve, braided line, and with or without a new spindle.
