Description

Chevy two and Nova for 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, and 1967 generally had drum brakes. A easy upgrade is to install a front disc brakes from a donor car like 1967-1969 Camaro / Firebird, 1968-74 Nova / Ventura, or 1967-72 Chevelle / GTO / Skylark / or Olds Cutlass. In order to do that you will need a lower ball joint kit DB-1010 from Global West Suspension. The replaces the stock lower ball joint with the correct lower ball joint for the donor car spindle. Welding is required on the lower arm to install the kit. Additionally the stock 5 lug steering knuckle arm off the Nova must have the two bolt holes drilled out to 1/2 inch from 7/1. The donor spindles require 1/2 inch. Note: You cannot use the steering knuckle arms of the donor car. You must use 5 lug steering knuckle arms off the 63-67 Nova. A 4 lug steering knuckle arm off the Nova will not have the correct spacing.
The stock upper ball joint will work in the donor cars spindle. The other positive aspect of going to the donor car spindle for an example is that Wilwood brakes for 67-9 Camaro will now fit, any size.
Global West carries Wilwood brakes and can help you sent up the braking system front to rear. Spindles are also available stock height and 2 inch drop.
