Specifically designed for drag racing, Global West offers tubular upper control arms with low friction bushings that allow the front end to respond quickly. The upper control arms have built in positive caster. These particular units have 6 degrees built in. Caster as you probable already know provides straight-line stability. A-bodies from 1964-72 never had enough positive caster available using the stock components. Even if you used an offset upper control arm shaft in your stock arm, the best you may get is 4 degrees positive. I would say the average is closer to 3 degrees positive. If your class permits, the TLC-upper control arm is definitely the way to go.

Econo kits also include Del-a-Lum bushings and ball joints for the lower control arm. The Del-a-lum bushings only allow straight up and down movement eliminating fore and aft deflection. These are superior over stock and polyurethane bushings. Del-a-lum bushings also will not distort / cold flow over time which will maintain your alignment. This combination is equal to that of using the tubular lower arm but without the strength of the tubes.
