Tubular Lower Control Arms with Del-A-Lum Bushings #CTA-42L
Tubular lower arms from Global West are supplied with ball joints, bump stops, Del-a-lum or polyurethane control arm bushings, special sway bar end links, and a spring cushion for indexing the coil. These control arms are designed for the Chevelle, El Camino, Malibu, and Monte Carlo--model years 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, and 1972. The Global West Advantage: Why do we use a rotating spring mount? There are a three reasons why we built a rotating spring pocket. First: A lot of people cut the coil spring to obtain a desired ride height. When you cut the spring, it will no longer line up in the lower arm or upper frame mount. In some cases this can cause the spring to make noise rubbing on the edge of the pocket. The spring cushion solves the rubbing issue and rotating it provides a way to re-index the spring. Second: The spring will be indexed properly around the coil. Most tubular lower control arms have a flat plate that the spring sits on. There really is no index. This places a lot of load at the very end of the coil spring rather than on the full coil. Over time, this will fatigue the coil spring and sag may occur. Third: Ride height adjustments can be made by shimming under the spring pocket. These Global West lower control arms feature the following:
  • For coil spring applications only
  • The sway bar mounting plate adds support to the ball joint area.
  • Straps are used around the bushing housings, strengthening the housing to the tube.
  • Del-A-Lum bushings are a direct replacement for rubber or polyurethane control arm bushings. They are perfect for street or race applications. This unique design provides smooth performance without squeaks or bind. Designed to last over 100,000 miles. Whether on the street or on the track, Del-A-Lum bushings will give you optimum performance and control.
  • The arms are pre-assembled
  • Steering bump stops are standard
  • Standard ball joints are used so they can be serviced anywhere.
  • bump stops
  • rotating spring cushions
