1955-1957 Tri Five, Belair, Nomad Control Arms, Bushings and Power Steering Kit
1955, 1956, 1957 Belair, Nomad, Tri-Five performance lower a-arm bushings Del-a-lum Part # 1055
Global West manufactures Del-A-Lum lower arm bushings for 1955, 1956, and 1957 Belair, Nomad, and Chevy 210 (the Tri-Five models). The bushing press in the lower control arm and retain the stock shaft. In order to install the bushings proper prep work to the a-arms is required. This particular kit requires reinforcing the back of the lower control arm with a support plate. This plate is advised even if you are replacing the bushings with stock. Studs are also included, they install at the ends of the lower arm shaft. Global West extends the length of the shaft for two reasons: First the Del-a-lum bushing has greater surface area for holding the load then the stock unit, Second the bushing when assembled adjusts like a wheel bearing. A slotted hex nut and a cotter pin is used for adjusting and maintaining the pre-load. A bolt will back out back out during suspension movement. All these components (plates and studs) are included in the kit.
Del-a-lum bushings after the prep work press in like factory bushings. The difference between Del-a-lum bushings verses poly or for that matter stock is their longevity and no squeaks. The bushings once installed will last for many years,at least 100,000 miles. They will not distort like rubber or polyurethane. They are a one time install, then forget about them.
Del-A-Lum bushings feature inner and outer thrust washers, inner rotating sleeve and lube fittings. This unique design provides smooth performance without squeaks or bind. Designed to last over 100,000 miles. Del-A-Lum bushings on the street or the track will give you optimum performance and control.
Welding is required with this kit.
