1964-1966 Mustang Category 5 Brake Kit 6 Piston (13.0" Rotor Diameter) # C5F-4913-6
Global West offers a disc brake package called Category 5 for the 1964, 1965, and 1966, Mustang with a 13 rotor diameter (6 piston). This package is designed for specific applications that fit our suspension. Special attention was given to wheel sizes and offsets; we made sure the brake package keeps the load on the spindle the same as factory. All of our applications required manufacturing billet hubs and using specific offset hats in order to utilize 1-1/4” wide rotors, special calipers brackets and/or spindle modifications became necessary for completing the package and allowing production wheels to fit. Note: 1-1/4” wide stock car rotors are grooved for water and gas removal. Gases generated between the pad and the rotor surface reduce braking efficiency. Info About Wheel Studs: CAT-5 disc brake kits use 1-1/2” long, 1/2 inch diameter wheel studs. They will accommodate closed lug nuts. ARP racing studs are available 3” long, 1/2 inch diameter. ARP studs require open wheel lug nuts. If you wish to order hubs with ARP studs, simply add ARP behind the part number when ordering. • Billet Aluminum hubs with 1/2 inch studs • Aluminum hats • 1-1/4” wide ventilated rotors- 13”diameter • Bearing and seals • 4 piston calipers • Brake pads • Braided steel lines Wheel sizes are as follows: Rotor Diameter Wheel Size 11.75” = 15” 12.20” = 16” 13.00” = 17” Wheel Diameter: When selecting wheels you should know the distance the caliper extends past the face of the hub and the diameter of the hub. Note: This kit requires a 17 inch wheel or bigger. On Mustangs from 1964-70 the back space on the wheel is 4.5 inches. You can fit a 17 x 8 on the front with a 225 x 40x 17 tire on 1964-66 Mustangs and on 67-70 you can run a 245 x 40 x 17. This brake package keeps the wheel in the same location as stock. There is no offset.
