TLC Lower Control Arm for Coil Spring (Chevelle, El Camino, Malibu, and Monte Carlo--model years 1973-1977) Part #TLC-37L
Global West manufactures drag race lower control arms for coilover. These arms are designed for the Chevelle, El Camino, Malibu, and Monte Carlo--model years 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, and 1977. Product Information:
  • TLC lower control arms for standard springs are similar to our G-Plus control arm design but there are a few key differences. The control arm bushings and the sway bar attachment points are different. Additional plates that were required for the sway bar have been removed in order to lighten up the control arm.
  • Weight savings is minimal when using the lower arm because of the tubing wall thickness required. The weight savings on a set of four is mainly through the upper control arms. The overall weight saving using all four is 8 pounds.
  • Lower arms are considered load carriers and are "beefed up" to handle wheel stands and extreme loads. The liability issue of using super light lower control arms in-lieu of saving weight increases exponentially on 3000 plus pound cars.
  • Here at Global West, we feel it is not worth piling up a race car over 5 pounds when the lower arm collapses from a wheel stand. Besides, Global West tubular arms have far greater benefits through geometry and bushing design. Purchases should not be based on weight overall when other factors are involved.
Note: TLC standard spring lower arms feature a unique rotating spring perch for indexing. This is beneficial if you have trimmed your coil spring for setting ride height. New Lower arm Hardware Part # 4003
