1982-92 Rear Control Arms, Torque Arms, Panhard Rod
1982-1992 Camaro Adjustable Panhard Rod with 1 Bearing and 1 Rod End #PHC-4
Global West sells adjustable panhard rods for the 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, and 1992 Camaro. What are Panhard Rods? Panhard rods are designed to reduce lateral movement of the rear axle in the chassis. One side attaches to the rear end while the other attaches to the frame or uni-body. The stock panhard rods generally are light duty and tend to deflect when the car is driven hard. Rear axle location is then compromised. Another condition regarding factory rods is that they are non-adjustable in length. Raising or lowering the car requires readjustment of the length in order to center the rear axle under the car. Failure to do so will result in possible tire rubbing on one side or suffer a distinct handling difference between right and left hand turns. Replacing the factory panhard rod with one of our performance units solves several problems. Tech Tip: Lowering your 1982-02 Camaro or Firebird will cause a shift in the rear end toward the passenger side. An adjustable panhard rod is mandatory for re-centering the rear axle. The PHC-4 uses a spherical bearing on the frame side and an adjustable collar with a spherical rod end on the rear end side. PHC-4 is used for racing applications and can be used on the street as well. For more information, watch the YouTube video above.
