Tubular tie rod adjusting sleeves are commonly used for setting the toe adjustments during alignment. They provide a 360 degree, full-thread engagement around the inner and outer tie rod threads. The sleeves are locked in position by tightening the tie rod end jam nuts provided in the kit against the sleeve. Alignment toe adjustments are achieved by rotating the sleeve moving the tie rods in our out. Unlike the factory sleeves, no special tools are required to adjust them. Why do you need tubular sleeves? Tubular sleeves are an upgrade over stock and should be thought of for any rebuild. They provide needed strength during hard cornering, and make toe adjustment easier for the technician.
