Alignment problems? Uneven tire wear or a pulling condition? The solution is a McCaster Kit. McCaster kits replace the factory mount with a combination of plates. The new plates provide additional adjustment in order to obtain proper alignment. Note:The stock mounts only provide camber adjustments. McCaster kits provide adjustment for both camber and caster.
Note: Alignment problems are brought on by the following:
altering the ride height, a change in wheel offset,
or our driving style (autocross, road racing, aggressive street driving, etc.). In order
to fix the problem, your
alignment specs must deviate from original factory settings. With our McCaster kits we
supply you with
new alignment specifications.

THUNDERBIRDS 1980-1988 only:
Currently we offer 4 different kits: Why???? Because we have found Thunderbirds vary to
the point that
one kit will not get the job done. In order to determine what kit you need:
Optimum Specifications for Street Driving (Thunderbird)

| DRIVER SIDE | PASSENGER SIDE |

The following chart gives you two part numbers. the first number is a KONI red. The
Koni red is a single
adjustable street shock. It is stiffer than stock, great for the street, but not enough
for auto crossing or serious
road racing. The number in parenthesis is a Koni Yellow. The Koni Yellow is also a single
adjustable shock
and has a more aggressive valving than the red. It is used for autocross, road racing, and
aggressive street. We
recommend this shock for most street and various racing applications. The ultimate
combination for
Mustangs especially with our system is the Koni double adjustable shocks. These shocks are
adjustable for
bump and rebound. Single adjustable shocks like Koni red's and Koni yellows adjust only
rebound. All
most all of our serious aggressive performance street cars and race cars use
doubles. NOTE: If you are
using a torque arm, you will need double adjustable shocks in the rear. Torque arms
generally require
more bump than the standard valve shock produced for Mustang. Since Mustangs didn't
originally
come with torque arms, any standard valve shock will be to soft on bump. The tire will not
plant. Doubles will fix the problem.

Contrary to popular belief, your Mustang will actually handle better at stock ride
height or with no more than a
1-inch drop. When a Mustang is lowered more than 1-inch, you actually hurt the
handling. Because of our
racing back ground, we know that specific rate springs are much better in high performance
applications.
Variable rate springs produce inconsistent results and are considered a compromise in
racing circles.

will lower
the rear about 3/4 of a inch.
Rear spring
perch spacers for leveling your cars ride height.
You may have noticed some Mustangs from 1979-93 have a
lower ride height on the divers side rear. Not to worry, we have
a simple fix. We use a special rear coil spring spacer machined out of
billet. This will not change anything but the ride height. The
spring spacer goes under the coil spring and indexes on the control
arm. The spacer will also re-index the coil spring.
Spacers will also fit 1994-05 models.
We make 3 different height spacers.

Traclink Traction kits (for 1979-99 with 8.8 rear ends):
The Traclink system not only provides immediate bolt-on
performance but it also does not
sacrifice ride comfort. The Traclink allows all rear end movement to be free from
binding.
Suspension bind is a major factor relating to ride comfort and performance, something
which
other traction devices will compromise.
By design the Traclink system works in two modes: Braking and Acceleration
Features and Benefits:
Traclink
for 79-93 Mustangs Part# TSF-93
fits Mustangs with 8.8 rear ends and a
standard rear end cover. Price $481.04
Part# TSF-93A fits 79-93 Mustangs with 8.8
rear ends and a aluminum rear end cover. Price $481.04
Traclink for 94-95 Mustangs with 8.8 rear ends and standard rear end cover.
Part# TSF-43 $ 621.39
Notice the long beam in the center of the picture. This beam attaches at the
transmission cross member and extends to the rear bulk head where the torque plate
attaches. The forward beam is necessary in order to provide the proper pickup point for
the torque arm.
A drive line safety loop attachment bracket is also installed on the beam for easy safety
loop installation.
Aluminum drive shafts will clear the forward beam and no ground clearance is lost.
NEW ---- Traclink for 96-98 Cobra Mustangs
Part# TSF-63 fits Cobra Mustangs with 8.8 rear
ends and standard rear end cover.

New from Global West, Traclink TSF-63 fits similar
to TSF-43 except the forward beam, forward
mounting hardware and brackets are quit different.
This model fits Cobra only.
Aluminum drive shafts clear the forward beam
and no ground clearance is lost.
Rear Tubular control arms (fits 1979-2000 non independent rear):
Global West's super duty rear lower control arms are designed as a factory replacement
unit. They are
intended for applications that require the utmost control. Drag racing, road racing,
autocross, and street
performance cars will benefit by using our super duty rear control arms.
Part# TBF-1
(pictured left) utilizes spherical aircraft bearings
and DEL-A-LUM (pronounced della-loom) Bushings to
control
rear end lateral movement as well as fore and aft location.
TBF-1's allow full rear end articulation without bind, making them
superior over any polyurethane based control arm.
TBF-1's also eliminate the need for a panhard rod because lateral
location is already provided by our unique control arm design.
We manufacture 3 different types of rear control arms and modify stock units for
special racing classes.
All of which we have used for years. The following chart will provide you with correct
information in
order for you to make the right decision.
| Type of lower control arm | Street | Road race | Drag Strip | Comments |
| Polyurethane bushings on frame attachment and
polyurethane on the rear end housing. (not good for street use) Mustang Part # TBF-3 $203.23 |
Bad Choice | Bad Choice | Good for Drag ONLY | When this type of a control arm is used on the
street or road racing applications, the car's suspension is put into a bind condition
during cornering and hard bumps. If you use this type of a control arm you will
notice a harsher ride. This is bind .Consequences: High speed oversteer
and possible over stressing the suspension mount. IMPORTANT: If you use polyurethane control arms with a Traclink the rear end will not hook up. Do not use a Panhard rod with poly bushings because this will also cause additional bind. |
| Spherical aircraft bearing on the frame and a
lube-type polyurethane bushing on the rear end housing
Mustang Part # TBF-11 $290.27
|
Good Choice | Good Choice | Good Choice | This control arm will work in all
applications. However polyurethane is the weak link in this equation. Poly will eventually
distort and cold flow. This will in turn produce play in the system (fore and aft). Consequences: Although polyurethane will cold flow over time. It can still do a job for a period of time before it needs to be replaced. Replacement is simple. |
| Spherical aircraft bearings on the frame side
and a DEL-A-LUM bushing on the rear-end side. (Spherical bearing) Del-a-lum bushings Best control arm on the market. Mustang Part # TBF-1 $322.53 Thunderbird Part# TBF-2 $322.53 |
Superior Choice | Superior Choice | Superior Choice | This control arm will work in all
applications. They allow the suspension to pivot without bind and provide zero fore and
aft defection. This type of control arm will provide stable straight line acceleration,
reduced corner exit oversteer, and immediate load transfer. Consequences: Rear end
control you never had before. Important: TBF-1s will not allow lateral movement. This is achieved through the design of the control arm and because the factory control arms are opposing. Panhard rods will not work with TBF-1's. The panhard rod will create suspension bind during travel. (see rear arm discussion ) |
Part# TBF-3 Double polyurethane control arm
TBF-3 is mainly a drag application.
(fits 1979-1998 Mustangs)
Part# TBF-11 polyurethane rear end side with spherical bearing frame
side.

Polyurethane rear end side (left)
Spherical bearing frame side (right)
Excellent choice over double poly rear control arms.
(fits 1979-1998 Mustangs)
Part# TBF-1 for Mustangs and Part# TBF-2 for
Thunderbirds are a superior choice over
all rear control arms.
Part # TBF-1 with hardware (Mustang).
Part # TBF-2 (T-Bird)

TBF-1 will fit 1979-1998 non independent rear applications.
TBF-9 will fit 1999-2004 non independent rear applications.
