1967-69 Camaro, Firebird Coilover applications

The following tubular control arms will fit if you are using wpe17.jpg (9099 bytes)

  • Stock or 2 inch dropped spindles.
  • Any brake kit using stock spindles.
  • ATS aluminum spindles.
  • Will not work with Heidts spindles.
  • Please note: Lowering the upper control arm pivot points on the frame for road racing will not interfere with the operation of these control arms.

To the right is a stock spindle. The spindle will measure about 7  inches tall across the overall height. Dropped spindles will measure the same.

 A must for any Camaro/Firebird owners suspension upgrade. Part # CTA-79A upper control arm kit supports road racing, drag racing and street applications. Control upper arm TLC-79 supports  drag racing only.

  1. Part # CTA-79A includes tubular powder coated black upper tubular arms, upper ball joints, control arm bump stops, billet upper cross shafts, Del-a-lum (Top of the Line) bushings, and related hardware. The are shipped fully assembled. Out of the box and on to the car.

    CTA-79A has a limited lifetime warranty and is considered a top of the line suspension component.

When you order a control arm top or bottom with Del-a-lum bushings. Global West will warranty the the control arm, bushings, and shafts for as long as you own your car.

Lower Tubular Control Arms (coilover applications)

Top quality tubular lower arms are available for coilover conversions.  For non coilover applications see G-PLUS for standard springs.

Global West's coilover tubular lower arms allow QA-1, Afco, and Air Ride technology components to  bolt directly on. The arms are supplied with ball joints, bump stops, and control arm bushings. They are designed to handle the increased load being placed through the shock attachment points versus the conventional stock spring location. The control arms are shipped pre-assembled for your conveyance.
Just take them out of the box and bolt them on the car.

Benefits and Features: 

We took a good look at the stock lower arm and the installation of a coilover kit in place of the standard spring. Which by the way installs on the top of the control arm, not from underneath. We felt we needed  a control arm  specifically designed to handle the load of a coilover application. The design of the lower arm would also clean up the appearance showing off the coilover kit. Therefore CTA-79H was designed. The arm offers 4 major strength areas to look at:
1. Doubling plates are used in the loaded areas where the shock bolts to the arm.
2. Cross tubes support the loaded shock mounting area and outside main tubes.
3. The sway bar mounting plate adds support to the ball joint area.
4. Straps are used around the bushing housings strengthening the housing to the tube.
CTA-79H will not except standard coil springs.

  • Strength: (1-5/8 x .125 DOM wall roll cage tubing ).
  • Del-a-lum bushings are standard. Polyurethane is also available.
  • Reinforced sway bar pick up points--- standard.
  • Lower arm bump stops --- standard.
  • Steering bump stops --- standard.
  • Cross bar support across shock mount area --- standard.
  • Additional clearance is added through the middle of the arm for header tubes.
  • Traditional all Global West tubular arms use straps at the bushing locations for strength.
  • Control arms are powder coated black.
  • Fully assembled when shipped.

  1. Part # CTA-79H - Lower control arms are supplied with ball joints, bump stops, and Top of the line Del-a-lum bushings. The arms are pre-assembled.

Just take them out of the box and bolt them on the car.
