What are anti-squat brackets? These are brackets that replace the stock rear upper control arm mounts that hold the upper control arm to the frame. They have additional holes for mounting the upper control arm. The different hole position or positions (depending on the bracket and application), change the geometry in the rear, increasing or decreasing the amount of down force on the rear tires. Depending on a host of variables, anti-squat is a fast way of improving performance without doing serious modifications to the vehicle. Part # VTC-50 bolts to the frame with no modifications. The upper hole in the bracket is in the stock location. Therefore they can be used as a replacement part. If you are using a stock upper control arm, the lower hole in the bracket can not be used. The stock upper arm will hit the frame during suspension travel. The only way to use the lower hole is if you purchase upper control arm part number TBC-51 or TBC-52. TBC-51 is used for street and ahs a rubber bushing on the rear end side and a aircraft rod end on the frame side. TBC-52 uses a double bearing arrangement made specifically for racing. It is not recommended for the street. VTC-50 brackets are powder coated black and are supplied with hardware. The factory pinion angle shims maybe reused. If you are using part #TBC-51 or #TBC-52, the pinion angle shims will not be required because the upper control arms are adjustable. Part # VTC-50 are sold individually because some cars only had one upper control arm. If you have a vehicle with two upper control arms you will need to order two kits. Part # VTC-50 --- $69.95 ea |
