1964-69 Mustang Disc Brake Conversion Kit---13 inch!

This kit will fit the following application provided the car has V8 drum brake spindles or spindles that use the Kelsey 4 piston factory disc brakes.

  • 64-66 Mustang V8 all (disc or drum)

  • 67-69 Mustang V8 all (disc or drum) except boss

  • 63-69 Falcon V8

  • 67-69 Ranchero V8

  • 66-69 Fairlane V8

This looks a lot like a Wilwood brake kit but it's not. This kit Part # C5F-6466-13-6 uses Wilwoods latest radial mount calipers, 13 inch rotors, and bell hats, however the new billet hubs, brackets, and other related item are Global West. This kit installs directly on drum brake spindle without any modifications and maintains the factory track width. The only requirement is that at least a 17 inch wheel be used. The kit comes complete with  the following items.

Category 5 Disc Brake Kits:

Global West offers a disc brake package called Category 5. This package is designed for specific applications that fit our suspension. Special attention was given to wheel sizes and offsets, making sure the brake package keeps the load on the spindle the same as factory. All of our applications required manufacturing billet hubs and using specific offset hats in order to utilize 1-1/4" wide rotors. Special caliper brackets became necessary for completing the package and allowing production wheels to fit. All brake packages maintain  the factory track width.

Note: 1-1/4" wide stockcar rotors are grooved for water and gas removal. Gases generated between the pad and rotor surface reduce braking efficiency.

Note about wheel studs: Cat-5 disc brake kits use 1-1/2" long, 1/2" diameter wheel studs. They will accommodate closed lug nuts. ARP racing studs are available 3" long, 1/2" diameter (shown above). ARP studs require open wheel lug nuts. If you wish to order hubs with 3 inch long ARP studs, simply add ARP behind the part number when ordering.

WHEEL DIAGRAM

When selecting wheels you should know the distance the caliper extends past the face of the hub and the diameter of the hub. Note: If you are using Global West Suspension components for any of the years listed. The front back space for a 15 inch rim is 4 inches, a 16--17-- and 18 inch rim uses 4 1/2 inch back space. The front rim width without flaring is 7 inch using a 15 inch wheel, 8 inch for all the others.

Note: The 11.75 brake combination will fit 15 inch wheels.
Spindles needed for the kits listed below are the large bearing disc brake spindles off of  1969-73 Mustangs.

The following Ford Disc brake kits require using large diameter disc brake spindles off of 1969-1/2 thru 73 Mustangs or 75-78 Granada. We recommend using a bump steer kit ADJ-43 on 64-66 Mustangs when using the large diameter spindle.
