1964-66 Mustang Export Brace (4 bar unit) |
New from Global West is a tubular 4 bar
export brace Part # TS-46. The export brace will work with a stock
shock mount and Global West's new coilover kits. The 4 bar is a ridge
mount. This is required for maintaining tower integrity. There are no rod
ends in the
system that allow deflection. The 4 bar takes the place of the stamped
steel braces used by Ford. In order to install this kit you will require
to remove the spot welded support braces on the side of the tower.
Removing the support braces serves two purposes, first-- it cleans up the
engine compartment and second-- provides the cleanest installation for a
tubular
support bar.The photo off to the right shows the tower support installed on a 66 Mustang. The photo below shows how the support installs around the coilover
upper mount. If a stock shock mount was being used, the tower support
would bolt between tower and the and the shock mount.
The photo to the right shows the tower support wedging up under the firewall lip and firewall. New hardware is furnished for this location.
