It is real easy to purchase non-compatible parts concerning suspension components when there are so many suppliers. Suspension components must work together in order for the car to be balanced. We have put together five packages for 1964-70 Mustangs starting with the basic setup to road racing. Each package is an upgrade over the prior allowing you to choose what's right for you.

STAGE 5 MUSTANG SUSPENSION 1967-70

Our Mustang packages range from Stage 1 to Stage 5. Stage 5 is considered a racing application and has continued improvements regarding brake upgrades and various suspension components. The following list also supports various Category 5 components. Note: Cat5 components are different from stage 5 components and require different chassis setup when used. They are part of Global West's development group.

FRONT SUSPENSION

  • MNR-73 --- Negative Roll System (Tubular upper control arms change geometry creating negative camber gain during cornering).
  • S-27 front spring --- (S-27 is recommended for street applications and occasional week end club events. S-28is geared for more aggressive driving and road racing events. Both spring combinations are used with small or big blocks). Ride height will be lower about 1 ¼ inches from stock.
  • TBF-6 or 7 are tubular lower control arms. Ball joint angles have been modified and spherical bearings replace the lower control arm bushing. Stock car replaceable ball joints are included.
  • Strut Rod bushings part # SRB-5 can be used with stock strut rods. These bushings are made of rubber and have a higher diameter then stock. SRB-5 can be used for racing. DO NOT USE POLY IN THIS LOCATION.
  • Front sway bar used with S-27 or S-28 is SB 708.
  • Front Shocks Koni 82-1388 SP3
  • Tubular tie rod adjusting sleeves ADJ-3 (kit includes jam nuts).

Chassis Support

  • Monte Carlo Bar ---Two types 1st Part # TS-2: TS-2 is straight commonly used with stock distributors.
2nd Part # TS-7: TS-7 has a bend directly over the distributor that allows clearance for tall aftermarket distributors.
  • Subframes Part # 911 or 911-C (911 fits all 67-73 Mustangs except convertibles, 911-C is for 67-73 Mustang convertibles).
  • Jacking rails Part # 924. (Jacking rails go to the outer rocker rails and weld on the inside edge. 924's also come with cross tubes and gussets that tie the outer rocker rail to the main subframe Part # 911. This kit also provides an avenue for connecting the roll cage to the entire assemble).

Front Disc Brakes

  • Pro Vintage Disc Brakes are available in three sizes 11.75, 12, or 13 inch. Pro Vintage Disc Brakes for 1967-70 Mustangs are supplied with or without spindles (depending on year) and come complete with master cylinder, rotors, bearings, seals, billet hubs, billet caps, 4/piston calipers, pads, hoses, adjustable proportioning valve, braided steel line and hardware.

REAR SUSPENSION

  • Rear leaf spring combination with special bushing/bearing system  Part # L-11cat5. This system dramatically changes how the rear  suspension reacts. (Used prior only on Global West built cars). Now available.
  • Rear shocks 82-1389 Koni.
  • NO REAR SWAY BAR WILL BE NEEDED

Rear Disc Brakes

  • Wilwood heavy duty 12 inch rear disc brakes with 4 piston calipers.

TIRE/WHEEL COMBINATIONS (option)

  • Racing requires measuring your car in order to maximize tire/wheel combinations. We know on the front using  16 or 17 inch wheels 4-1/2 inch back space is max. However the exact rim width requires measuring. Brake packages, fender openings modified or not, rear end changes, and a host of other factors all affect the overall tire/wheel combination. This makes it almost impossible to accurately suggest maximum tire/wheel combinations.
