Stage One / Mild Upgrade 1967-69 Camaro / Firebird

(Small block or Big block)

This application is for the person who wants improved drivability, however, does not want to go too far from stock. Standard control arms are used with  upgraded performance Del-a-lum bushings. Stock springs are used in the front while multi leaf rear springs are required. Good quality shocks are required and a larger front sway bar is , giving better tire control. Alignment setting are modified from stock producing more straight line stability and improved tire life. Cornering ability is also addressed, reducing excessive body roll.

 It is not considered an aggressive system but provides benefits over stock in the following areas:

  • Provides straight-line stability.
  • Increases corner entry response.
  • Controls alignment
  • Improves tire wear.
  • Improves rear end lateral stability.

Stage One also offers snap front-end response necessary for drag race applications. Del-a-lum bushings allow weight transfer without bind and still control-unwanted deflection.

Parts List:

  1. Del-a-lum upper control arm suspension bushings. Upper kit part # 1030 if using a stock upper control arm shaft. Use kit 1012 if using our upper shaft part # 709 or part # 702.
  2. Del-a-lum lower control arm suspension bushings. Lower kit part # 1013
  3. We recommend using offset upper control arm shafts Part # 702 (2 required per car).
  4. Front sway bar use part # SB-136 (1- inch diameter). (Not for Drag racing)
  5. QA-1 adjustable shocks Part # TC-1914P or Koni front shocks Part # 80-1914.
    Both shocks are adjustable.
  6. Del-a-lum rear leaf spring bushings and shackle kit part # 103SH multi leaf only
  7. Mono leaf spring replaced by multi leaf --- use part  # L-16 rear multi leaf spring
  8. Mono to multi conversion kit Part # 1038 required if changing from mono to multi.
  9. QA-1 or Koni adjustable rear shocks (specify mono or multi).
    Rear Koni shocks Part # 80-1953 (stud type) or 80-1915 (1/2 inch bolt type).
    QA-1 shocks Part # TC-1953P (mono leaf) Part # TC-1915P (multi leaf).
  10. Option (fast ratio steering box).

Recommended alignment settings for Stage One:

Driver side Passenger side
Caster 2 degree’s positive Caster 2 ½ degree’s positive
Camber ½ to ¾ degree negative Camber ½ to ¾ degree negative
Set toe to toe-in (3/32 total) Set toe to toe-in (3/32 total)
