 Tubular control arms for coilover applications using
Negative Roll Geometry.

  The following tubular control arms will only fit a tall GM spindle measuring 8-15/16 inches tall across the ball joint bosses. This spindle is required in conjunction with our Negative Roll upper control arm in order to generate negative camber gain during cornering. The new geometry keeps the tire contact patch flatter on the pavement.

Note: This spindle will not work with stock upper control arms.

Global West Negative Roll arms will not work with Stock spindles 7 inches tall. ( shown to the right)

They will also not work with ATS spindles or 2 inch dropped spindles.

Using tall GM disc brake spindles with our upper control arms will give you the following advantages:

  1. Part # CNR-42A --$704.88 per pair  upper control arms for tall spindle conversion . The arms are powder coated black and are shipped pre-assembled with offset billet cross shafts, Del-a-lum bushings, bump stops, and ball joints. New alignment specifications are also included.
     
  2. Part # CNR-42AP--- $608.11 per pair upper control arms for the tall spindle conversion. The arms are powder coated black and are shipped pre-assembled with offset billet cross shafts, polyurethane bushings, bump stops, and ball joints. New alignment specifications are also included.  

Important: Tall disc brake spindles require using a CNR-42A upper arm kits
Two outer tie rods ends are also required for the conversion because of a taper change.
Use part #3007 for 1964-70 (1 kit required) $64.47
Use part #3008 for 1971-72 (1 kit required) $69.84

If you are going to use your stock lower control arm, you will also require a pair of special machined lower ball joints part #2005 ($107.48) because the new spindle has a different taper. However if you purchase a tubular lower arm for the conversion, the correct lower ball joint is all ready installed.

Tubular Lower Control Arms for 64-72 A-body coilover application.

Global West offers 2 different tubular lower control arms for  coilover applications using tall spindles. Each control arm provides maximum strength and durability. Built out of 1-5/8 roll cage tubing these control arms are stronger then stock and can handle the stresses incurred during high cornering loads and today's aggressive tire/wheel packages.

  • No special ball joints are required for later servicing.

  • A unique rotating spring mount is used which allows a perfect spring index every time.

  • A special sway bar end link is furnished with each control arm.

Tech Tip: You should always check the factory lower arm at the ball joint location for cracks and tears. Over the years it is not uncommon to see damage in this area.

The arms are fully assembled for easy installation. QA-1 coilover shock/spring kits fit directly on with no modifications. Note: The correct tapered lower ball joints for taller disc brake spindles are used in this arm and machine work is no longer required for ball joint replacement!
